Beth Greenwood ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™22 has earned a coaching role with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, the PhilliesÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™ Class A minor-league affiliate.

Beth Greenwood ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™22 joins PhilliesÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™ minor league affiliate.

Beth Greenwood ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™22ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½”the first woman player in Yellowjackets baseball history and the first American woman catcher in NCAA baseball historyÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½”has reached another milestone.

Greenwood was hired in February as a development coach by the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball. The Amherst, New Hampshire, native works for the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, the PhilliesÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™ Class A minor-league affiliate.

Greenwood, who majored in at the , completed an 18-month stint with the Phillies as a baseball research and development fellow while also gaining coaching experience. SheÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™s also a member of the US national womenÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™s baseball team.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½œIÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™m excited to stay in the Phillies organization and help develop players and build relationships,ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½� says Greenwood, who primarily works with catchers and helps with the Blue-ClawsÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™ daily game plan. ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½œWhen I was growing up, women coaching in pro baseball was practically nonexistent. Over the last decade, major strides have been made in proving there are experienced and qualified women to coach baseball. I look forward to following in their footsteps to help pave the way for the next generation of girls and women in the game.ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½�
