Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)

At the University of Rochester, the right community can make all the difference, and the MGC can offer just that. Joining a Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) fraternity or sorority connects you with brothers or sisters who share your values and your commitment to something greater than yourself.

The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) was established on campus in the 1999-2000 academic year. These organizations are built on a strong foundation of cultural pride, identity, and purpose. Being part of MGC means joining an organization with deep historical roots and a legacy of uplifting underrepresented communities. You’ll develop as a leader, engage in meaningful service, and find a “home away from home.” Beyond your chapter, you’ll gain a national or global network of lifelong members who are invested in your success.
