The dashboard aggregates data from Workday and IORA to present project timelines, funding information, expenditures, and proposal activity in one location through interactive visualizations and summaries.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal of the dashboard is to help investigators and administrators easily monitor the status of their sponsored research projects and support proactive planning, effective financial management, portfolio oversight, and informed decision-making.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h3><strong>Who Has Access<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are currently rolling out access to the PI Dashboard to Principal Investigators and administrators <strong>by school <\/strong>between April 2026 \u2013 October 2026:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>April: Warner School of Education &amp; Human Development<\/li>\r\n \t<li>May: Eastman School of Music &amp; Simon Business School<\/li>\r\n \t<li>June: Eastman Institute for Oral Health &amp; School of Nursing<\/li>\r\n \t<li>July: Hajim School of Engineering &amp; Applied Sciences<\/li>\r\n \t<li>August: School of Arts &amp; Sciences<\/li>\r\n \t<li>September: School of Medicine &amp; Dentistry<\/li>\r\n \t<li>October: Laboratory for Laser Energetics<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Important: <\/strong>Access to the PI Dashboard is based on roles within IORA and UR Financials (Workday). Once a school enters its rollout window, PIs and administrators in that school will only see information in the PI Dashboard if they have the following roles assigned:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>For PIs: <\/strong>assigned as a <strong>Principal Investigator (PI), Program Director (PD), or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) in IORA.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>For Administrators:<\/strong> assigned as <strong>Grant Financial Analyst <\/strong>or <strong>Grant Manager<\/strong> in UR Financials.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Users will only see data associated with the projects for which they have these roles.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h3><strong>How to Access the Dashboard<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To access the dashboard:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li>Go to: <a href=\"https:\/\/dashboards.rochester.edu\/\">https:\/\/dashboards.rochester.edu<\/a><\/li>\r\n \t<li>Login using your Active Directory credentials<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Select Grant and Proposal Reports<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Then select Principal Investigator Projects Summary<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you believe you should have access but are unable to view the dashboard, please contact the support team listed below.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h3><strong>Dashboard Structure<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PI Dashboard contains five primary tabs, each designed to provide a different perspective on an investigator\u2019s research portfolio.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Principal Investigator Projects Summary<\/strong>: Provides a high-level overview of sponsored projects for the PI.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Project Spending Trends:<\/strong> Displays cumulative authorized amounts, expenditures, and spending forecasts for a selected project.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Project Finance (FAO) Summary: <\/strong>Displays authorized award amounts and expenditures by financial account (FAO) and budget period.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Project Expenditures by Spend Category: <\/strong>Provides detailed views of expenditures by category.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Principal Investigator Proposals Summary:<\/strong> Provides a summary of awarded and pending proposals.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Note: Only PIs will be able to see information on the Proposals Summary tab<\/strong> as the information is sourced from IORA and viewability is based on the role assignment of PI, PD, or Co-PI.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3><strong>Data Definitions and Field Descriptions, Data Sourcing, and Refresh Schedule<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Definitions \/ Field Descriptions\r\n<\/strong>Detailed definitions and explanations of the data elements in the dashboard are available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/rochester.datacookbook.com\/institution\/reports\/60420\">Data Cookbook.<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This resource provides definitions for key terms, data elements, and calculations used in the dashboard.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Data Sourcing &amp; Refresh\r\n<\/strong>The dashboard aggregates data from multiple institutional systems:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>IORA Grants (Huron Research Suite)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>UR Financials (Workday)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dashboard data is refreshed daily.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h3><strong>Questions &amp; Support<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Data Warehouse team in University IT holds weekly open office hours via Zoom for individuals to attend if they have technical questions.
