Paws for Stress Relief brings therapy dogs to campus for students to spend some time with. This monthly program occurs on select Mondays on the River Campus and Thursdays at Eastman School of Music. Health Promotion also provides educational information, fun activities, and stress-relief giveaways such as lavender sachets or stress balls.\r\n<h3><strong>DeStress Fests<\/strong><\/h3>\r\nDestress Fest is an opportunity to engage in a variety of fun, stress-relieving activities during midterms and finals. Enjoy soothing music, calming tea, and more in the Welles-Brown Rom at Rush Rhees Library! Each Destress Fest is different. Activities may include:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Board games<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Puzzles<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Craft table<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Stress balls<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Coloring<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Gratitude jars<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Pop-Up Sensory Spaces<\/h3>\r\nThe Sensory Pop-Up Program will provide students with accessible, low-barrier opportunities to engage in relaxation, grounding, focus, and decrease overstimulation during the academic year. These temporary spaces offer a variety of sensory supports, including calming lights, fidget toys, aromatherapy, mindfulness activities, coloring, and quiet reflection spaces to decompress.\r\n\r\nRecognizing that students have diverse sensory needs and preferences, the program aims to create welcoming and inclusive environments during major campus events and traditions, as well as high-stress time periods such as midterms and finals. These spaces are designed to support neurodivergent students, students experiencing stress or overwhelm, or any student seeking a moment of calm, restoration, or sensory relief. Brought to you in collaboration with Health Promotion, the CARE Network, Residential Life &amp; Housing, and Student Activities.\r\n\r\n<hr \/>\r\n\r\n<h2>Supporting a Student or Peer in Distress<\/h2>\r\n<h3>Be There Certificate<\/h3>\r\nAre you interested in gaining knowledge on mental health literacy, as well as skills and confidence to safely support peers who may be struggling with their mental health? Health Promotion and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/college\/odos\/leadership\/medallion\/index.html\">the Medallion Program<\/a> have partnered to offer <a href=\"https:\/\/betherecertificate.org\/\">the Be There Certificate<\/a> for students. The Certificate counts towards an Interpersonal Competence workshop for the Medallion Program.\r\n\r\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/betherecertificate.org\/\">Be There Certificate\u00a0<\/a>is <a href=\"https:\/\/jack.org\/Home\">Jack.org<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bornthisway.foundation\/\">the Born This Way Foundation's<\/a> digital, self-paced learning experience designed to increase mental health literacy and provide youth with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to safely support anyone who may be struggling with their mental health.
