Community-Based Participatory Research

Community-based participatory research (CBPR) is a historic strength of the URMC and is a critical tool for the improvement of translational research and population health. Review the . Researchers engaged in CBPR are strongly encouraged to participate in the to build essential skills and foster meaningful community partnerships.

Community-Engaged Research

CBPR is one type of Community-Engaged Research. 聽There are many ways in which researchers may work with community partners as part of a research project. 聽In most cases, these community partners are not affiliated with an IRB which requires additional considerations and responsibilities for the URochester PI.
