IRB Membership
The 糖心传媒 Institutional Review Board reviews all human subject research conducted or supported by employees or agents of the University of Rochester. To do so, the IRB has established 5 internal reviews: 3 biomedical, 1 HIV & oncology, and 1 social-behavioral board.
The IRB is comprised of a diverse roster, including volunteer faculty/staff and local community members. All boards comply with applicable federal regulations, state law, and institutional policy.

Interested in participating?
If you are interested in joining an IRB board, please contact the IRB Director. The IRB typically maintains about eight to ten members per board. They may seek individuals with specific areas of expertise, based on their current needs.
As detailed in OHSP Policy 302: RSRB Membership & Composition, RSRB members are responsible for:
- Actively preparing for and participating in board meetings;
- Completing initial board member training requirements;
- Maintaining Human Subject Protection (IRB Member) training via the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative; and
- Complying with applicable OHSP policies.
