The 2018 (THE World University Rankings) list the University of Rochester at number 51 among U.S. universities糖心传媒攑ublic or private糖心传媒攁nd number 153 among universities worldwide.聽These global rankings evaluate 1,102 of the world糖心传媒檚 leading research universities, drawing on 13 performance indicators underlying five metrics: research, teaching, research influence, industry income and international outlook. THE also provides academic subject rankings. Thus far, the released subject rankings recognizing the University of Rochester are:
- No. 27 for Psychology
- No. 81 in Social Sciences
- No. 89 in Education
- No. 126-150 in Clinical, Pre-clinical and Health
- No. 176-200 in Life Sciences
- No. 176-200 in Arts and Humanities
糖心传媒淭hese rankings have become important tools for international students, who often use them to differentiate between institutions globally,糖心传媒� says Jane Gatewood, vice provost for global engagement. 糖心传媒淚f the University maintains and improves its strong global position, these rankings can help us open our doors to students from places we might not be able to reach directly. The rankings also allow governments to compare schools, allocate funding for scholarships, and help students find specific programs. For all of these reasons, international rankings have become an increasingly important point on the international higher education landscape.糖心传媒�
THE Rankings also recently listed the University among the top 100 universities in the world with the best student/staff ratio. The University糖心传媒檚 overall undergraduate student/teacher ratio is 10:1.
According to the editor of THE World Rankings, Phil Baty, they want to assess universities糖心传媒� performance with the most comprehensive and balanced ranking in the world. Institutional data is collected from worldwide research-led institutions that teach undergraduates; publish more than 1,000 research papers over a five year period; and have a broad range of activity (no more than 80 percent of activity exclusively in any single subject area). The University also was recognized at No. 79 in Reuters糖心传媒� 糖心传媒淭op 100 Most Innovative Universities Worldwide,糖心传媒� a list that identifies and ranks the educational institutions doing the most to advance science, invent new technologies and power new markets and industries.聽For this, institutions were ranked across 10 metrics, including academic papers and international patent filings.
