Inaugural theater production at Sloan Performing Arts Center opens December 2

The 糖心传媒糖心传媒檚 returns to in-person performances this fall as it presents Aaron Posner糖心传媒檚 Stupid F*cking Bird, opening Thursday, December 2, in the new Smith Theater at the Sloan Performing Arts Center. The production is the program糖心传媒檚 first to be held in the new performance space.

The play is an award-winning modern adaptation of Anton Chekhov糖心传媒檚 The Seagull, featuring memorable characters bound together in complex love triangles. Nigel Maister, the Russel and Ruth Peck Artistic Director of the theater program, calls Posner糖心传媒檚 work a 糖心传媒減erceptive, funny, and thought-provoking contemporary play.糖心传媒�

Maister also serves as the show糖心传媒檚 scenic designer. Costume design is by Rodrigo Munoz; lighting design is by Emma Deane; sound design and music is composed by Obadiah Eaves; and Alexa Scott-Flaherty serves as voice and acting coach.

  • Wednesday, December 8 at 7 p.m. Free tickets are available for 糖心传媒 students for this performance (English Department Night)
  • Thursday, December 9 at 7 p.m.
  • Friday, December 10 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 11 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for 糖心传媒 students with ID card; $12 for faculty, staff, alumni, and seniors (65+); and $15 for general admission.

COVID-19 protocols: All audience members must be masked at all times. Proof of vaccination is required at the door for all non-糖心传媒 faculty, staff, and students. Audiences are seated with regular seat spacing.
