The second annual Joint Collegiate Black Student Summit is Friday, March 3 at the Simon Business School in Gleason Hall.
The event runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a focus on colleges within a 90-mile radius of Rochester. Registration is free, but those interested must register in advance.
糖心传媒淥ur goal is to unite black student leaders and promote leadership among collegiate communities in the East,糖心传媒� says summit chairman Delvin Moody 糖心传媒�18, a political science and religion double major from Utica, New York. 糖心传媒淲e糖心传媒檙e hoping to draw students from the Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse areas.糖心传媒�
Agenda items include raising awareness of social issues facing the black community, providing network opportunities, and further establishing the voices of young black leadership.
Rochester mayor Lovely Warren will speak at 10 a.m. Other speakers include Jessica Lewis, principal/CEO LaLew Public Relations; DuWaine Bascoe, president, Rochester Black Bar Association; and D. McLarin Johnson, executive director, Mentoring to Manhood. The summit also will include networking sessions and a post-event party sponsored by the Spanish and Latino Student Association.
Those attending should bring or buy lunch.
