The nurse practitioner-turned-operations executive reflects on forging first-generation pathways at the University of Rochester.

With four ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ degrees to her nameÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½”including a recent MBA from the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½”Jennifer Dunivent ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™00N, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™04N (MS), ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™08S (MS), ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™25S (MBA) embodies lifelong learning and purpose-driven leadership.

A first-generation college graduate who arrived on campus sight unseen with a duffel bag and a scholarship, Dunivent built a career defined by grit, curiosity, and service. She has worked at the bedside in the NICU and pediatric emergency department, led hospital operations, entered the startup world, and founded her own consulting company. Today, she is vice president of client engagement and operations at a startup health insurance companyÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½”where she blends analytical rigor with authentic, people-first leadership.
