This system is maintained by the Department of Homeland Security and Department of State.\r\n\r\nThe information entered into the SEVIS database is used to create immigration documents and to meet reporting requirements. The International Services Office (ISO) is responsible for maintaining records in the SEVIS database on behalf of the University of Rochester.","background_color":"#ffffff","width":"width-medium"},{"acf_fc_layout":"text","anchor":"","css_class":"pt-0","title":"<h2>I-901 SEVIS fee<\/h2>","content":"The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) requires payment of the <a href=\"https:\/\/fmjfee.com\/i901fee\/index.html\">I-901 fee<\/a> for all new SEVIS records prior to the visa interview and entry to the United States.\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Students transferring their SEVIS immigration record in Active status to the University of Rochester do not need to pay the fee again.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/iso\/visas\/dependents\/\">F-2 and J-2 dependents<\/a> do not have to pay the fee.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Fee amount and how to pay<\/h3>\r\nCurrently, this fee is <strong>$350 for F-1 Student<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.25rem;\">\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span><strong>$220 for J-1 Exchange Visitor\u00a0<\/strong>applicants<span style=\"font-size: 1.25rem;\">.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/fmjfee.com\/i901fee\/index.html\">The fee must be paid online<\/a>. After making payment, you should print the receipt to show proof of payment during the visa interview and\/or during F-1\/J-1 entry to the United States.\r\n\r\nPay the fee at least 3 days prior to your visa interview, or prior to your travel to the United States, if you are not required to obtain a visa.\r\n<h3>Information needed to submit payment<\/h3>\r\nYou will need information from your UR F-1 I-20 or J-1 DS-2019 to pay the I-901 fee, including:\r\n\r\n<strong>Your SEVIS ID:<\/strong> The SEVIS ID is a 9-digit number beginning with \u201cN,\u201d in the upper right-hand corner of your F-1 I-20 or J-1 DS-2019.\r\n\r\n<strong>The University\u2019s school code or program number:<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The F-1 school code is in \"School Information\" section of the I-20<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The J-1 program number is in \"Program Sponsor\" section of the DS-2019<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nVisit the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fmjfee.com\/i901fee\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I-901 SEVIS fee page<\/a> for more information about who pays the fee, how to pay the fee, how to request refunds, and more.
