Catherine Murphy ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™45E (MM) loved seeing her students succeedÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½”it was one of her greatest joys. Her own distinguished career as a pianist and academic surely inspired similar pride from her professors at the Eastman School of Music. And because of a trust provision she made for Eastman years ago, she will continue to help students aspiring to careers in music for generations to come.

CatherineÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™s gift, made in honor of her brother, Carl Amt ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½™37E (MA), ultimately resulted in an endowed scholarship fund. The Catherine A. Murphy and Carl E. Amt Endowment Fund pays tribute to a strong bond between siblings and will forever support students who aim to leave their musical mark on the world.
