For dependent students, family size will be based on their parent or parents\u2019 claimed dependents. For independent students, family size will be based on their and, if applicable, their spouse\u2019s claimed dependents.\r\n\r\nIf any additional dependents are being supported by a dependent student\u2019s parent(s) or by an independent student (and\/or their spouse), but were not claimed on that contributor\u2019s federal taxes, they can be manually added to the family size by the contributor.","accordion_anchor":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"accordion","accordion_title":"Number in College","icon":"","row_content":"Previously, the number of enrolled college students in the applicant\u2019s family impacted the federal EFC calculation.
