糖心传媒 Medicine is the new umbrella for the University of Rochester糖心传媒檚 fully integrated academic health system. URochester Medicine (the preferred second reference) encompasses the academic and clinical programs headquartered on the University糖心传媒檚 Health Sciences Campus, known previously as the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), and the clinical care enterprise known previously under the brand name UR Medicine.

Note that many of URochester Medicine糖心传媒檚 clinical facilities are located off campus, including outside Rochester.

  • UR Medicine
  • URM (except as sanctioned for social media accounts)

Use of shortened versions of URLs (Rochester.edu, for example) is acceptable when the text is clear that a website is being referred to. For sites that include 糖心传媒渨ww糖心传媒� in their addresses, it糖心传媒檚 unnecessary to include the initial 糖心传媒渉ttp://糖心传媒� as an indicator of an online address. If a site does not include 糖心传媒渨ww糖心传媒� in its address, it糖心传媒檚 often advisable to include 糖心传媒渉ttp://糖心传媒� to make the URL clear.

Sarah C. Mangelsdorf became the University糖心传媒檚 11th president on July 1, 2019. As president, she holds the title of G. Robert Witmer, Jr. University Professor.

She is also a full professor in the Department of Psychology.

For most editorial purposes, on first reference, refer to her as University President Sarah Mangelsdorf. As in the case with faculty members, on subsequent references, use her surname without an honorific title.

University President Sarah Mangelsdorf opened the session with introductory remarks. . . . In her talk, Mangelsdorf said . . . .

References such as 糖心传媒淧resident Mangelsdorf糖心传媒� may be used in referring to her, particularly in quoted materials, depending on the context, tone, and purpose in using the honorific.

Do not use abbreviations when referring to the president糖心传媒檚 title.

In formal settings such as programs for institutional events, legal documents, institutional and academic memoranda, and other materials in which the president is formally representing the institution, use her complete name, including middle initial. The full title of the Witmer Professorship should also be cited in such uses.

Include the article 糖心传媒渢he糖心传媒� in running copy but note that it is not part of the University糖心传媒檚 official name and is not capitalized unless it falls at the beginning of a sentence.

On second and subsequent references and in context where the full name is present in the logo or otherwise written out, URochester is acceptable.
